A.P. Environmental Science Course Description
This course is designed for academic students
interested in undertaking an in-depth study of environmental science
topics. Multiple field trips, outdoor labs and group projects
provide a variety of learning experiences. Students will learn the
concepts and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships
of the natural world, to identify, analyze, and evaluate environmental
problems and their risks, and to examine alternative solutions for
resolving and/or preventing them. Course content follows the
College Board AP Environmental Science syllabus. Students will be
prepared to take the AP test in May, for which college credit may be
earned.
Prerequisites: A grades in Biology 392 and Chemistry 312, or B
grades in Biology 391 and Chemistry 311, and teacher recommendations
from current science teacher and previous biology teacher.
